CIFA Regional Symposium 2026 – Registration Open!

We are delighted to invite you to join the CIFA Regional Symposium 2026, to be held on 18-20 November 2026 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, jointly organised by the Consortium of Institutes on Family in the Asian Region (CIFA) and the National Coalition for Mental Wellbeing (NCMW), Malaysia.

Date: 18-20 November 2026 (Wednesday – Friday)
Venues: Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Kuching, Sarawak, and
                  Waterfront Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak

The theme of the Symposium is “Building Bridges: Mental Health and Resilience Across Generations in the AI Era” An exciting programme has been drawn up, including keynote speeches, plenary and concurrent sessions, Final Round Adjudication and Award Presentation Ceremony of the 3A Project 2026, and post-symposium agency visits and workshops. Registration is now open on a first-come, first-served basis. REGISTER NOW to reserve your seats and enjoy the special rate by 31 August 2026. For CIFA members, a 10% discount will be given, up to a maximum of 10 staff members. A discount code will be provided to facilitate your registration.

Abstract submissions are cordially invited from researchers, clinicians, practitioners and scholars interested in sharing their experiences, insights and practices regarding family well-being. The full list of sub-themes and more details are available on the Symposium 2026 website. Please note that the abstract submission deadline is 15 July 2026.

CIFA is organising quarterly Webinars with the view to provide opportunities for professional learning and exchange among family practitioners, researchers, policy makers and University students from the Asian regions and beyond! The Webinars will be hosted by Vice Chairpersons from various regions/countries in Asia, together with invited speakers to cover family related issues and stimulate our thoughts on how we can provide evidence-based practice and formulate policies for the well-being of families. Grief and Bereavement Conference 2021 organised by Singapore Hospice Council

Organised by the Singapore Hospice Council and following the success of the inaugural local Grief and Bereavement Conference (GBC) in 2018, the 2nd conference is back. The virtual conference will start with a 2-day pre-conference workshop on 20 and 21 September 2021 and followed by the main conference from 22 to 24 September. The theme Tapestries of Grief reflects the uniqueness and universality of individual and collective grief of the local community, and rallies multiple stakeholders from relevant sectors who interface with those touched by death to share, learn and explore how bereavement care can be better woven to form a compassionate network to hold the space for grief. There will be 3 workshop tracks on Healthcare, Community, Practice.
 
Learning Outcomes:
• Consider the repertoire of appropriate responses to the needs of the grieving and bereaved
• Build knowledge on grief and bereavement work
• Increase their capability to deliver grief and bereavement care
• Expand their network of service partners across the care continuum in delivering grief, bereavement and death-related services
