UN Special Consultative Status<\/u><\/b><\/h3>\n

CIFA is granted Special Consultative Status by the United Nations, a formal recognition of our efforts in enhancing FAMILY WELL-BEING in Asia!<\/p>\n

Organizational Structure<\/u><\/b><\/h3>\n

The CIFA Council is set up by the full members. It is the decision-making body of the consortium and exercises all the powers conferred by the Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Council consists of a number of councilors that is elected by the full members. The Council elects its own chairperson and deputy chairperson. It also establishes committees and appoints advisors\/patron(s) where necessary.<\/p>\n

Secretariat<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The Consortium is supported by a secretariat that will provide administrative support to the Council and the chairpersons, as well as to maintain the information clearing house and develop\/upkeep the CIFA website. Initially, the secretariat is based in the HKUFI.<\/p>\n

General Meetings<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The Company shall in each year hold a general meeting as its annual general meeting in addition to any other meetings in that year, and shall specify the meeting as such in the notices calling it; and not more than 15 months shall elapse between the date of one annual general meeting of the Company and that of the next.<\/p>\n

Funding<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

As the Consortium is operated on a self-funding basis, sources of funding may include the following:-<\/p>\n

1. Tertiary institutes \/ organizations involved in CIFA<\/p>\n

2. Donation\/sponsorship from charitable organizations\/individuals\/corporations<\/p>\n

3. Membership fees<\/p>\n

Income generating activities, research grants and government sponsorship for special activities relevant to work of CIFA may contribute to the income of the CIFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
