With the assistance of the Secretariat of the Family Council, Mrs. Patricia Chu, Chairperson of CIFA, Ms. Agnes Ng, Convenor of the 3A Working Group, Ms. Lo and Ms. Cheung from Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (Gold Award Winner of 3A Project 2010) joined the program “甜心家族” on RTHK channel 2 on 13^th February, 2012.

The newly formed editorial group is in the process of exploring ways to improve the CIFA newsletter with the view to present a proposal to the CIFA Council at its meeting on 9^th March. The group would like to receive YOUR views, ideas and suggestions for improvement of the newsletter.

Mrs. Patricia Chu, Chairperson of CIFA, Ms. Agnes Ng, Convenor of Working Group and Ms. Eliza Cheng, Service Director of ELCHK Life Angel Education Center, Bronze Award winning team of 3A Project 2010 were invited to attend the radio programme “政好星期天” on 22nd January, 2012 to promote the work of CIFA, further publicize the 3A Project 2012 and appeal for support from interested organizations.

Through the assistance of the Secretariat of the Family Council, HKSAR, a radio interview has been arranged during the programme “甜心家族” on RTHK channel 2 on 13th February, 2012, 4:30 – 5:00 p.m.

In response to enquiries from interested organizations, a briefing session was organized on 11th January 2012 to provide details of 3A Project 2012. Information on 3A Project 2012 will also be uploaded onto the Family Council Website for wider distribution. Moreover, Mrs. Patricia Chu, Chairperson of CIFA, Ms. Agnes Ng, Convenor of Working Group and a representative of Gold Award winning team will attend the radio programme “政好星期天” at Commercial Radio 1 on 22nd January 2012 to further publicize the Project.

A new Editorial Group for CIFA newsletter has been formed, with Mrs. Miranda Chung and Mr. Herman Lo as key members. The Group will make a proposal to the CIFA Council on the design, format, content and frequency of the newsletter.

While wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2012, it is time to look back on 2011 which is a busy, productive and exciting year for CIFA.

We have witnessed significant development in the work of CIFA, which continued to serve as the platform for sharing and networking in the Asian region in achieving its   mission of "Converging Professional Wisdom for Family Well-being." CIFA is gradually gaining more recognition and support from the various sectors in the region and laying a solid foundation for further development. I would like to take this opportunity to brief you on these achievements.

We have been receiving enquiries on the Project and the Working Group has decided to organize a briefing session on 12th January 2012 (Thursday) to brief interested organizations on the details of the Project. We have also decided to extend the deadline for the submission of the initial entry to 24^th February 2012 to allow more time for interested organizations to submit their entries.

The membership renewal exercise is on. Existing Full Members and Associate Members are reminded to complete the renewal procedure in order to extend their membership for the year 2012 & 2013 on or before 15^th January 2012.

“A charity Concert for Family Harmony” “愛樂Ÿ愛家Ÿ共諎和諧 慈善音樂會” was successfully held, with the wonderful performance of the SAR Philharmonic Orchestra, Ms. Lan Rao and Dr. Julie Bees.

The 3rd Regional Symposium will be held on 11th to 13th December, 2012 at the National University of Singapore. The theme of the Symposium will be “Asian Families: Innovations in Practice and Policies”. Interested parties can register via the registration form available from the website.

Dr. Joseph Li, President of Wofoo Social Enterprises (WSE), received an honorary doctoral degree from Hong Kong Baptist University.
